Editorial Team

Senior Editor

Expected time commitment: 5-10 hours per week

  • Oversee given step of editorial process (either Internal Review, Substantive Edit, or Language / Grammar Review) and coordinate with Associate Editors on tasks and deadlines.
  • For all other submissions, Senior Editor will work directly with Associate Editors to reach a decision.
  • Report to Executive Editor on progress of individual submission.
  • Desirable skills include:
    • Experience on a law journal will be considered an asset;
    • Bilingual in two of the three official languages of the Journal (French, English and Spanish).


Associate Editor

Expected time commitment: 5-10 hours per week

  • Participate in editorial process of all submissions by either: completing an Internal Review, Substantive Edit, or Language Review.
  • Report regularly to Senior Editor.
  • Desirable skills include:
    • Bilingual in two of the three official languages of the Journal (French, English and Spanish).
Multimedia Team

Multimedia Editors

Expected time commitment: 4-7 hours per week

  • Assist the Multimedia Chair with Multimedia team tasks, including:
    • Assist the Multimedia Manager in updating Inter Gentes website content, including the arrangement of textual and visual elements of articles, op-eds and editorials;
    • Assist in developing lecture recordings and thematic podcasts for Inter Gentes issues;
    • Contribute to the creative direction of the website;
    • Editing and creating critical and reflective material that compliments the journals issues;
    • Update all social media platforms to promote the journal, its online presence, and work in collaboration to develop social media strategies/campaigns to promote the journal and contemporary issues;
  • Desirable skills include:
    • Bilingual French/English (and also preferably speaks Spanish, but not required).
    • Experience with coding and/or web administration (training will also be provided);
    • Experience with communications strategies and social media platforms.
Management Team

Outreach Associates

Expected time commitment: 4-7 hours per week

  • Assist in the management, preparation and implementation of the Management team’s tasks, including:
    • Encouraging submissions;
    • Encouraging submissions;
    • Searching for partners and donors for the Journal;
    • Promoting the Journal across universities and academic centres worldwide;
    • Promoting the Journal across key professional circles;
    • Linking up with the media on and outside campus;
    • Organizing promo events for the Journal.
  • Design and implement the social-media outreach strategy for the Journal in collaboration with the Management Chair and Multimedia Team.
  • Desirable skills include:
    • Bilingual French/English (and preferably also speaks Spanish and/or other additional language).
  • The Management Team intends to assign one Outreach Associate to the position of Finance & External Relations Officer.

*Responsibilities of the Finance & External Relations Officer include: budget maintenance, budget-related internal communications, external funding research, and communications with the Advisory Board.
